La UD Las Palmas de Francisco Javier García Pimienta sonríe jugando al fútbol en Primera División. Un estilo atractivo y valiente al que sólo le falta el gol. Además, los Pío Pío aún conservan una de las virtudes claves para que pudieran conseguir el ascenso la pasada temporada: la defensa. El equipo menos goleado de Segunda División en la 22/23, confirma uno de sus puntos fuertes en el arranque del campeonato en la máxima categoría. Mika Mármol, comprado este verano, está siendo una de las sensaciones de este inicio 23/24. El central, que solo tiene la mancha de la expulsión ante el Granada, volverá ante el Celta para seguir demostrando que es una pieza esencial de este equipo.

Con un trato de balón exquisito en sus botas, el ex del Andorra se ha mostrado como un defensor que tiene varios registros que le hacen dominar varias facetas del juego. Un futbolista con jerarquía y carácter a pesar de tener sólo 21 años. ¿Por qué es importante en la UD Las Palmas?

Un reencuentro con Mingueza

En estos últimos meses, Mika Mármol ha sufrido una etapa de segundos capítulos. El primero de ellos con su actual entrenador. García Pimienta fue el que vio las virtudes del central en la cantera del FC Barcelona. De hecho, en 2019 era parte de la plantilla del juvenil A de Franc Artiga, pero sus características ‘Made in La Masía’ le hicieron debutar con el filial culé un 12 de octubre de aquel mismo año.

En aquel estreno en una de las canteras más prestigiosas de fútbol español; sustituyó a Óscar Mingueza, donde precisamente, se reencontrarán este lunes en un Las Palmas – Celta que, a pesar de las buenas sensaciones ofrecidas por ambos equipos, la faceta del gol se les resiste para lo tanto que producen.

Perteneciente a la generación de los Arnau Tenas o Nico González, Mika Mármol ha irrumpido con fuerza desde aquel debut. Un ascenso progresivo gracias a los técnicos que le vieron crecer en el final de su adolescencia. No es casualidad que su importancia haya sido en el Andorra con Eder Sarabia (segundo de Quique Setién en su época blaugrana) y García Pimienta (el técnico que confió en sus virtudes).

Mika Mármol, a idas y venidas con el FC Barcelona

Aunque ahora se destapa como un central que domina la pelota, la posición natural de Mika Mármol es la de lateral izquierdo. Tanto en sus inicios en el Camping Creixell como en el Terrassa, como en su primera experiencia en el FC Barcelona siendo un niño. No obstante, no todo fueron luces, ya que en su periodo en el alevín, los culés dejaron de contar con él.

Este episodio no fue un mazazo, al contrario, fue una motivación para superarse. Tras jugar con generaciones mayores a la suya y demostrar un gran nivel en el Club de Fútbol Damm, volvió al Barça para retomar su sueño.

Con el paso de los años y a pesar de no tener muchas oportunidades en el primer equipo, los de Xavi Hernández, quién le hizo debutar en Primera División en Getafe, tienen un 50% de los derechos del jugador, donde actualmente tiene contrato hasta 2026 con la UD Las Palmas.

¿El defensa revelación del campeonato?

Ahora mismo, no hay central que impacte más en el juego de un equipo como Mika Mármol para la UD Las Palmas. Un defensa que se ha convertido en el dueño y señor de la salida del balón, pero también en el arte del defender. Con alguna conducción a lo Franz Beckenbauer, el natural de Terrassa está rompiendo las estadísticas en este comienzo de La Liga 23/24.

El primer dato demuestra que estamos ante alguien especial. Mika Mármol es el defensor que más regates realiza en el campeonato, habiendo únicamente fallado dos. Además, ante el Valencia realizó 5/5, un registro escandaloso para su posición.  El segundo es respecto a su acierto en el pase, donde roza el 90% de acierto, siendo casi infalible.

A la unión de estas virtudes, hay que sumar su faceta como DFC. Su capacidad para ganar duelos aéreos como en el cuerpo a cuerpo también son notorios: 4/8 y 24/33, respectivamente. Sin dudas, estamos posiblemente ante el defensa con más variantes de toda la Primera División.

Su impacto en la UD Las Palmas

El jugador que más intervino en la categoría de plata, con casi 3.300 minutos, fue fichado para competir con Eric Curbelo. Considerados como los dos mejores centrales izquierdos de la campaña 22/23, Mika Mármol ha sentado a su nuevo compañero de una tacada. Y a pesar de que Eric es bueno, la ausencia del defensor de La Masía es notable, como en el duelo ante el Real Madrid en el Santiago Bernabéu. Es decir, debido a lo que aporta ya es insustituible.

Su manera de conducir el balón hace que rompa las líneas de presión del rival, llegando a ser el pivote en salida de balón, con un don para distribuir el juego y asomarse más allá de la zona media del campo. Además, su alternancia de pases largos, medios y cortos le hace ser un másterclass con el esférico.

Con su presencia, ha liberado a Jonathan Viera de ser siempre el organizador de los Pío Pío, donde el año pasado, la estrella de la UD Las Palmas tuvo que doblegar esfuerzos ante equipos con planteamientos ultra defensivos. Éstos dos, junto a Kirian Rodríguez, son los jugadores que más pases dan en el equipo de García Pimienta, siendo los creadores de juego de los amarillos.

Los expertos ya coinciden que es el central con más potencial y el mejor en salida de balón. El ojo de García Pimienta ha permitido que se haya podido descubrir a un Mika Mármol que tiene tintes de equipo grande. El tiempo lo dirá, pero su fútbol no va con una hora de retraso como en el archipiélago canario. Al contrario, la acelera con precisión y maestría.
