Y precisamente, la historia está para contar hechos que puedan servir a alguien que esté pasando por algo similar. Junior Sambia, jugador del Montpellier, ha sido uno de los futbolistas que más sufrió el coronavirus. Ahora, un año después, es uno de los jugadores destacados de esta Ligue 1 20/21.
¿Quién es Junior Sambia?
Junior Sambia, hijo de padres procedentes de la República Centroafricana, nació en la ciudad de Vaulx-en-Velin. Formado en el juvenil del Olympique de Lyon, del Macon y del Chamois Niort, destacó por ser un pivote consistente. Precisamente, en la entidad de ‘Le Chamois’ ya dio pistas de su validez, convirtiéndose en el jugador más joven en disputar un partido profesional con el Niort, con 18 años y 5 días.

Probablemente, abril de 2020 fue el momento más difícil de la vida de Sambia. Tras tres días sufriendo síntomas como una gastroenteritis, al no interrumpirse el problema, acudió al hospital. En unos primeros análisis, dio negativo pero luego la situación empeoró. Unos días más tarde, se confirmó el positivo. Por suerte y con el paso de los días, Sambia mejoró su estado de salud. Fue desentubado y comenzó a respirar sin asistencia. La noticia causó tanto impacto, que sus compañeros se enteraron de la situación a través de los medios de comunicación, como adelantó el 25 de abril de 2020 el periodista experto en fútbol francés Andrés Onrubia.
Las confesiones de Sambia
Finalmente, se recuperó pero si hay una palabra que marcó la trayectoria de Sambia por el hospital, esa fue la del miedo. Porque a pesar de ser un deportista de élite y con unas condiciones físicas envidiables, pasó muchas dificultades.
Unas semanas después de recibir el alta, tuvo la capacidad de expresar sus sensaciones en un periódico francés. El aplazamiento de disputa del campeonato francés la pasada temporada, sirvió para que Sambia pudiera prepararse físicamente, ya que en su tiempo de ingreso en el hospital, perdió unos 4 kilos.
