Bruno Soriano, a sus 36 años, y después de volver a los terrenos de juego tras una grave lesión, ha decidido retirarse del fútbol al terminar la temporada.

Se inició como futbolista en las categorías inferiores del Villarreal. Aquí fue escalando peldaños hasta conseguir ascender a la Segunda División con el Villarreal B en la temporada 2006/2007. Esta misma temporada logró debutar con el primer equipo de la mano de Mauricio Pellegrini.

Para la siguiente temporada, consiguió cumplir su sueño y terminó consolidándose en el primer equipo.

La importancia de Bruno en el equipo fue aumentando y junto a Marcos Senna formó una dupla perfecta. Recordada con mucho cariño por los aficionados del Villarreal.

Amor a unos colores

El descenso del Villarreal a la Segunda División, supuso una situación difícil para la entidad. Además, a sus problemas se le sumó la muerte de Manuel Preciado, que iba a ser el entrenador del equipo.

Fue entonces cuando Bruno demostró su amor al Villarreal y a pesar de tener ofertas por parte de otros equipos, renovó con el Villarreal el verano de 2012 hasta 2020.

En el invierno de 2013, Marcelino Toral se convertía en nuevo entrenador del submarino amarillo. El entrenador asturiano consiguió dar un cambio de rumbo en el equipo, que no estaba pasando por su mejor momento. La figura de Bruno Soriano fue clave para el ascenso, lideró como gran capitán al equipo, teniendo una gran importancia en la recta final de la temporada.

Bruno, un ídolo del Villarreal

Con la vuelta a Primera, Bruno se asentó como capitán del Villarreal. En el año 2016, el canterano conseguía hacer historia tras superar a Marcos Senna como jugador con más partidos del club.

Entre sus éxitos como jugador del Villarreal cuenta con tres clasificaciones para jugar competición europea. Además, disputó la primera semifinal de la Copa del Rey para el Villarreal en la temporada 2014/2015, que terminarían perdiendo contra el Barcelona.

Con 11 temporadas en el club, se ha ganado el cariño de toda la afición y se ha convertido en un referente para todos esos jóvenes que buscan  hacerse un hueco en el primer equipo. El partido contra el Eibar siempre será especial, y será recordado como el último partido después de toda una vida defendiendo la camiseta del Villarreal.

Bruno Soriano, una historia de superación

La carrera de Bruno representa una verdadera historia de superación, las ganas de seguir luchando ante las adversidades para conseguir el objetivo. En el año 2017, tras terminar la temporada ganando el derbi contra el Valencia decidió operarse para terminar con unas molestias en la rodilla. Fue entonces cuando empezó una sucesión de infortunios que lo tuvieron apartado del terreno de juego más tiempo del que se pensaba en un principio.

La segunda operación fue en el año 2019. El mediocentro español volvía a pasar por quirófano para tratarse de unos dolores en el tendón rotuliano. A diferencia de las últimas veces, Bruno fue evolucionando favorablemente y se empezaba a ver luz al final del túnel.

Aunque la situación fue muy complicada, Bruno mantuvo la esperanza de volver a jugar a fútbol. El 18 de junio de 2020 volvía a una convocatoria del Villarreal después, de más de tres años. Sus primeros minutos jugando se hicieron esperar hasta la semana próxima cuando, Calleja sustituyó a Paco Alcacer por Bruno, en el partido contra el Sevilla. Bruno Soriano volvía a jugar 1.128 días después.
