Un ave en forma de futbolista sobrevuela los estadios de la Bundesliga. Sus adversarios en la fauna verde del tapete de juego tiemblan cada vez que prepara su ataque por la banda. Con una zurda endiablada, levanta la cabeza que deja ver su ojo de depredador, y es ahí cuando Filip Kostic comete el crimen de la asistencia a la perfección. No suele ser el culpable directo pero si es el testigo de la mayoría de los goles del Eintracht de Frankfurt. Como un águila, va solo por el flanco izquierdo pero cuando el ataque perfecto se convierte en gol, sus compañeros se unen a él para formar una bandada que por el momento, está provocando que Borussia Dortmund o Bayer Leverkusen estén fuera de los puestos de la Champions League.

 

¿Quién es Filip Kostic?

Kostic es un primitivo mediapunta que evolucionó a la posición de extremo y se ha adaptado bien a la función de carrilero en el 3-4-1-2 del equipo entrenado por Adi Hütter. Natural de Kragujevac, empezó en el conjunto de su ciudad natal, en el Radnicki 1923, más conocidos como ‘Los diablos rojos’ de Serbia. En sus dos temporadas en la primera plantilla (anteriormente canterano), consigue ascender a la Superliga Serbia, donde destaca realizando una gran campaña y los ojeadores de equipos como el Estrella Roja o de ligas como la Jupiler Pro League o la Serie A se interesan por él.

Finalmente, el primer vuelo del actual extremo es hacia la Eredivisie.  El Groningen se hizo con sus servicios a cambio de 1,25 millones de euros. En «Los Granjeros» permanece dos años, en los que comparte vestuario con jugadores como Virgil Van Dijk o el jugador de la Atalanta Hans Hateboer. En la 2013-2014, Kostic anota 12 goles y reparte 7 asistencias, quedando como uno de los mejores jugadores de campeonato, junto a su compatriota Dusan Tadic o el ex de la Real Sociedad Alfreo Finnbogason.

 

Amado por la Bundesliga, ignorado por los grandes

El fútbol alemán tiene el placer de disfrutar de Kostic desde 2014. Stuttgart, Hamburgo y Frankfurt han visto crecer a un futbolista en el que actualmente nadie entiende cómo los equipos grandes están más interesados en este futbolista. Su impacto es tan evidente que cuando el Stuttgart desciende a la 2. Bundesliga en la 2015/2016, Kostic tiene más de una veintena de ofertas en todo el fútbol europeo. En aquella temporada, el serbio es uno de los pocos jugadores que se salva de la imagen negativa de ‘Los Rojos’. Tanto, que fue el segundo goleador del equipo, empatado con Timo Werner y el máximo asistente (6).

Vicente, mítico extremo del Valencia, lo recomendó para el club ché cuando era la mano derecha de García Pitarch en 2016. Sin embargo, al final se hizo con sus servicios el Hamburgo, que lo fichó por 14 millones de euros, convirtiéndose en el fichaje más caro de la historia para los Rothosen.

Pero su incorporación a los dinosaurios del fútbol alemán fue dar dos pasos para atrás en su carrera deportiva. Primero, porque la situación del Hamburgo fue muy inestable a todos los niveles, que mostraba el preludio del histórico descenso en la 2017/2018. Segundo, porque tuvo que jugar en muchas posiciones, como en la banda derecha e incluso de delantero centro. Aún así, fue el máximo asistente del equipo y uno de los integrantes de la plantilla que aportó más goles.

Su llegada a Frankfurt, una de las ciudades financieras más importantes del mundo, fue un soplo de aire de libertad. Con Hütter ha conseguido reencontrarse como futbolista. Como carrilero, es un puñal por la banda izquierda. En tres temporadas, Kostic ha producido para ‘Las Águilas’ 71 goles (26 tantos + 45 asistencias), como reflejó el periodista Pakillo Mariscal.

De hecho, esta temporada es el sexto futbolista que más asistencias realiza en el mundo (14) y de las grandes ligas, solo está por detrás de Thomas Muller (15). Por otro lado, va en camino de pulverizar récords. Uno de ellos es en ser el jugador con más asistencias en una misma temporada en el Eintracht. Este dato lo tiene Uwe Bein, que realizó 17 pases de gol en la 1992/1993.

 

 

¿Cómo juega Filip Kostic?

El serbio es como aquel pokémon que te gustaba en su estado inicial, no te gustó su segunda evolución pero su tercera te parece majestuosa. Su trayectoria en la Bundesliga es un buen  ejemplo para analizar su progresión como futbolista. Por ejemplo, en el Stuttgart se mostró como un extremo puro, pegado a la cal. Rasgos como la electricidad, el regate o su capacidad para centrar en carrera son los que le definieron en sus inicios pero que aún los conserva, donde ha conseguida madurar y mejorar todos estos aspectos.

Gracias a Hütter y a su 3-4-1-2, Kostic ha encontrado el camino de la madurez. Por un lado, se ha convertido en un especialista como carrilero izquierdo. Probablemente, el mejor de la competición junto a Angeliño, del RB Leipzig. Además, ha mejorado su faceta defensiva, mostrando un gran despliegue y un gran sacrificio por el bien del equipo, algo de lo que se le acusaba en el pasado.

Su crecimiento no tiene límite. Quién quiera plantear un debate, va a tener que combatir con unos números difíciles de rebatir. Su influencia en el juego ofensivo es de tal relevancia que esta temporada ha dejado 80 pases de gol, 63 ocasiones creadas, 14 asistencias y una dupla infalible con André Silva, que lleva 22 goles esta campaña.

Con un valor de 32 millones de euros y con 28 años de edad, Kostic se presenta como una posible ganga y posiblemente, ante su último tren para ir a un equipo grande.
