De Murcia al cielo
El ariete conquense comenzó su carrera en las categorías inferiores del Real Murcia, donde pasó un total de dos años antes de dar el salto al primer equipo. Tuvo una larga estancia en el primer equipo, desde 2009 hasta 2014.
El de Motilla del Palancar vivió uno de los momentos más duros de su carrera en la temporada 2011/12. Todo comenzó con una lesión del hueso de la espinilla que lo mantuvo fuera de los terrenos de juego casi un mes. A la lesión de espinilla la siguió una osteítis, con la que estuvo apartado más de tres meses. Cuando recibió el alta, no volvió a ser convocado para un partido esa temporada.
Con el Real Murcia alternaría Segunda División y Segunda División B, ofreciendo en ambas un rendimiento excelente, hasta el punto de que en la temporada 2013/14 vivió su momento álgido. Kike García estaba en la cresta de una ola que no iba a romper aún.
El Real Murcia jugó el playoff de ascenso ante el Hércules, y acabó ascendiendo el club alicantino. Pero el ariete conquense hizo una temporada con la que acaparó muchos focos, desde Inglaterra llegaban los más brillantes. El Middlesbrough de Aitor Karanka haría todo lo posible por llevar al delantero conquense a la EFL Championship.
Kike García da el salto a Inglaterra
Llegó al «Boro» en la temporada 2014/15 a cambio de 2,25 millones de €, tras dejar un legado increíble en Murcia, con más de 140 partidos, 48 goles y 10 asistencias. Kike llegaba con un gran cartel al Middlesbrough, y tenía la ventaja de contar con la confianza de Aitor Karanka, quien había pedido su fichaje.
En su primera temporada en Inglaterra coincidió con jugadores como Emiliano N’sue y Fernando Amorebieta. Aquel Middlesbrough compitió por ascender a la Premier League en una campaña en la que jugaron los playoffs. Lamentablemente el club de Karanka perdió la final y jugaría otro año más en EFL Championship.

La temporada 2015/2016 sería su última campaña en Inglaterra, una etapa corta en la que no pudo dejar su huella como el delantero goleador que venía siendo. Para Kike García fue un año un tanto convulso, dejó a mitad de temporada a un «Boro» que marchaba primero en Championship, marcando únicamente 4 goles en 19 partidos de liga.
Volvió a España para jugar en la SD Eibar, pero no pudo disputar ningún partido oficial durante media temporada ya que el ariete no disponía de una autorización para jugar, un duro golpe para él en ese momento.
La SD Eibar de Mendilibar
Kike llegaba a un club que se caracteriza por su alto ritmo de juego, sobre todo cuando juega en Ipurua. La SD Eibar es un equipo en el que acaba fundido hasta el utilero tras el gran esfuerzo que exige Mendilibar en todos y cada uno de los encuentros que disputan.
La SD Eibar es un club en el que el trabajo sobre el césped es algo innato, seas quien seas o vengas de donde vengas, para jugar en el Eibar debes dejarte la piel en el campo desde el 0 hasta el 90. Es un equipo que vive de la frase que utiliza el Valencia Basket, «Cultura del esfuerzo».
El club en la presente temporada no pasa por su mejor momento, los resultados no acompañan y la dificultad para marcar goles en algunos partidos es algo que preocupa a todo aficionado «armero». ¿Cuál es la importancia de Kike García en Eibar?
Los goles de Kike García han servido para desatascar partidos e incluso sumar puntos. En la presente campaña, ya cuenta con 3 dianas y una de ellas sirvió para dar una victoria importantísima ante el Sevilla. Un triunfo que gracias a él daba aire un Eibar que está pasándolo mal esta temporada. También ha marcado ante el Athletic Club y el Villarreal, aunque estos partidos acabaron en derrota.
Promedios como su porcentaje de 0,38 goles por partido, marcando cada 203 minutos, demuestran que Kike está siendo el jugador más decisivo en Ipurúa esta temporada. Kike García domina el juego aéreo, y así lo demuestran sus estadísticas (vía Sofascore), por partido gana 5’8 duelos por alto, un 54% de duelos aéreos ganados hasta la fecha.
Otra característica de Kike García es su capacidad de revolucionar un partido. Cuando parece que el Eibar está sobre la lona, convierte una jugada aislada en gol, y con una facilidad asombrosa.
