¿De dónde viene Moi Gómez?
Moisés Gómez Bordonado, más conocido como Moi Gómez, proviene de un pequeño municipio de la localidad Alicantina: Rojales. Allí, comenzaría su carrera en los equipos inferiores del Club Deportivo Thader de Rojales, y posteriormente, en el equipo de la ciudad, el Alicante CF. Estuvo allí hasta que ficha por el submarino amarillo en la temporada 10-11 para que disputara los partidos con el juvenil del equipo.
Moi, además, era un fijo en las selecciones inferiores de España, gracias a sus buenos partidos en el filial castellonense. Un crecimiento que le llevó a debutar el 30 de abril de 2011 en Segunda División con el Villarreal «B» ante el Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
En ese mismo año, también debutaría en Primera División el 28 de noviembre al entrar de suplente ante el Málaga CF en la Rosaleda. Con 17 años, Moi ya había debutado en Primera y Segunda División en la misma temporada, algo que hacía vislumbrarle un futuro brillante.
Sin embargo, no tuvo la continuidad suficiente como para ganarse un sitio en el primer equipo amarillo, por ello, tuvo que buscarse la vida fuera del club a base de cesiones en varios equipos para ganar confianza y demostrar tener el nivel necesario para ser un jugador importante en el equipo castellonense.

Cesiones y etapas que forjan un carácter
Moi Gómez ha pasado por dos cesiones (Getafe y Huesca) y una etapa como jugador del Sporting de Gijón, forjando un carácter como futbolista por lo vivido en cada equipo.
Tras su paso por el Getafe, donde pasó sin pena ni gloria a causa del descenso de los «azulones», llegaría libre al Sporting de Gijón. En el conjunto gijonense, tras una primera etapa para olvidar, ya en la 17-18, cuajaría uno de sus mejores años como jugador de fútbol profesional. El alicantino, rodeado de jugadores como Rubén García, Jony o Jorge Meré, conseguiría el ascenso a la Primera División habiendo aportado mucho en el juego del equipo.
Tras esta gran temporada, el alicantino se iría de nuevo cedido, en este caso al Huesca. Lograría el ascenso, también en la temporada 17-18, con el conjunto aragonés disputando un total de 17 partidos. Ya en Primera División, disputaría un total de 36 partidos aportando 2 goles y 9 asistencias siendo de lo mejor del equipo junto al «Chimy» Ávila, Jorge Pulido o el «Cucho» Hernández.
A pesar de haber vivido 3 descensos, Moi Gómez siempre se ha rehecho y ha sabido encontrar la continuidad en todos los clubes por los que ha pasado. Por eso, tras este periplo en 3 clubes diferentes, el Villarreal, en la temporada 18-19, abonó su cláusula de recompra de 1,3 millones de euros para volver a hacerse con los servicios del alicantino.
Moi Gómez y el Villarreal: destino Europa
La temporada 19-20 fue la consagración del jugador alicantino en el submarino amarillo dirigido por Javi Calleja. Moi sería trascendental, disputando 41 partidos y aportando 5 goles y 8 asistencias, en el que ha sido su mejor año como futbolista.
En un equipo rodeado de grandes jugadores como Santi Cazorla, Gerard Moreno, Zambo Anguissa o Toko Ekambi, el nombre del alicantino aparecía en casi todas las alineaciones de Calleja y realizó encuentros para recordar. Uno de ellos, fue ante el Real Madrid donde el equipo amarillo consiguió empatar 2-2 y donde Moi transformó un gol al rechace.
Además, el Villarreal acabó en 5ª posición, demostrando un gran nivel sobre todo después del parón marcado por el claro estilo combinativo, y Moi fue de lo más destacado.
En definitiva, el año pasado supuso un antes y un después en la carrera de Moi Gómez , donde por fin logró consagrarse en el equipo de su vida, y demostrar que su destino seguía estando en La Cerámica.

En la actual temporada, Moi está de dulce, y se ha establecido como titular casi indiscutible para Unai Emery. Un técnico que desde su llegada el pasado verano ha priorizado al alicantino en su once titular, pese a la gran competencia que tiene (Samu Chukwueze, Takefusa Kubo, etc.).
Moi Gómez está a un nivel excelso y, junto a Gerard Moreno, está siendo el mejor del conjunto «groguet». Algo que se ve reflejado en la clasificación, un 2º puesto en las 9 primeras jornadas de La Liga.
El de Rojales ha logrado esa madurez futbolística que tanto necesitan los jugadores para disfrutar en el terreno de juego. Además, con un entrenador como Emery, que sabe potenciar a jugadores creativos como Moi, la fórmula solo puede salir bien.

¿Cómo juega Moi Gómez?
Moi Gómez es un jugador tan impredecible como polivalente. Actualmente está jugando como extremo izquierdo pegado a banda para presionar la salida del rival y de mediapunta que se mueve con libertad cuando el equipo tiene el balón, dejando el carril totalmente libre al lateral.
